STEP FOUR

I started my rebate process a few weeks ago with Anna and the team and today I’ve received the money in my account.

I have only good things to say about my experience. I was informed at every step, quick responses if I had any questions and a good service provided over all. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent service from start to finish. Fast effect and professional approach. Kept me informed throughout as well as answering any queries. Money has been paid as well as multiple referral fees. Get involved !

What a brilliant service! Anna kept me informed throughout the process and was there to support and guide through every step, with very little input from myself needed. Anna handled my experience with professionalism and care, and I always felt as a valued customer with this company. Thank you again, I would absolutely recommend Rebate Mate to anyone!

Having had a terrible experience previously with another company I was initially a little skeptical but I can honestly say rebate mate were fantastic.

Anna was excellent at keeping me updated throughout the process. There was little effort on my end and the whole thing was so smooth.

Thanks you so much!

FAQ

  • Am I due a rebate?
If you've been diligently working and paying taxes in the UK, it's time to check if you've overpaid. The HMRC offers tax rebates to individuals who have paid more tax than they owe, especially concerning work-related expenses. In HMRC's own words, a tax rebate is "a refund on taxes when the liability is less than the taxes paid." Are you frequently on the road for work, covering travel expenses out of your own pocket, and finding that your employer isn't fully reimbursing you? If so, you could be entitled to a tax rebate. HMRC doesn't automatically return overpaid tax for these work-related expenses, which means you need to take the initiative and claim what's rightfully yours. The best part? You can claim for up to the past four years. But that's not all. Taxpayers in the UK can explore rebates for various expenses, including clothing and uniforms, accommodation, tools, travel, training, and much more.
  • How much am I entitled to claim?
The amount you can claim in a tax rebate depends on your individual circumstances. The good news is that you can typically claim back taxes for the previous four tax years. On average, our clients receive rebates of over £2,000, with some securing even more substantial rebates exceeding £10,000. To get a precise estimate of how much you might be entitled to, all it takes is a 15-minute conversation with one of our team. During this call, we'll evaluate your eligibility and provide you with an estimate on the spot. It's a simple and straightforward process. Just reach out to us to schedule that call, and we'll help you uncover the potential rebate waiting for you
  • What’s the difference between a tax return and a tax rebate?
It's common to hear the terms "tax return" and "tax rebate" used interchangeably, but they refer to different aspects of your tax affairs. A tax return is a mandatory annual process where individuals and businesses in the UK report their income, expenses, and other financial details to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). The purpose of a tax return is to calculate your overall tax liability for the year, taking into account various sources of income and allowable deductions. In essence, it's a comprehensive financial report that determines how much tax you owe to HMRC. On the other hand, a tax rebate is a refund of taxes you've already paid to HMRC, but that exceeds your actual tax liability. This often occurs when you've overpaid taxes, especially in cases related to work-related expenses. HMRC defines a tax rebate as "a refund on taxes when the liability is less than the taxes paid." If you've been driving for work or incurring expenses for your job that haven't been fully reimbursed by your employer, you may be entitled to a tax rebate. Here's the key difference: a tax return is an annual requirement to determine your tax liability, while a tax rebate is a potential refund of excess taxes you've already paid. Importantly, HMRC doesn't automatically refund overpaid tax for work-related expenses, which means you need to actively claim it back. The good news is that you can typically claim for the past four tax years, and this isn't limited to just business travel. Taxpayers in the UK can potentially claim rebates for various expenses, including clothing and uniforms, accommodation, tools, travel, training, and more. To explore your options and determine if you're eligible for a tax rebate, our dedicated accounting team is ready to assist you with a brief telephone call. Don't miss out on the money you may be entitled to – get in touch with us today, and let's get started on maximising your returns.
  • How long does a HMRC tax rebate take?
On average, it can take HMRC up to 12 weeks to process a tax refund claim.
  • I don’t wear a branded uniform so how do I get a laundry allowance?
You may be eligible for a laundry allowance as part of a PAYE tax rebate in the UK if you incur costs for washing, repairing, or replacing work uniforms or protective clothing. Here are the key criteria and conditions under which you might be eligible: Uniform or Protective Clothing: The allowance applies if you have to wear a uniform or protective clothing that is specific to your job. This does not include ordinary clothes, even if you only wear them for work. Requirement by Employer: Your employer must require you to wear this uniform or protective clothing as part of your job. Not Reimbursed by Employer: You can only claim the laundry allowance if your employer does not already reimburse you for these costs. If you receive an allowance from your employer for laundry expenses, you cannot claim the same expenses through a tax rebate. Evidence of Costs: While you do not need to provide receipts for small claims, you should be able to demonstrate that you have incurred these expenses. Keeping records of your laundry costs is advisable.
  • How much does Rebate Mate charge?
Rebate Mate operates on a "no win, no fee" basis, ensuring that you don't need to make any upfront payments. Our fees are only applicable when your tax rebate is successfully claimed back from HMRC. At the point when HMRC releases your rebate payment to you, we charge a competitive 30% + VAT of the rebate figure. This ensures that our fees are directly tied to the money you receive, making it a fair and transparent process. So, you can rest easy knowing that you only pay us when you get paid.
